Turkish Statistical Institute announced the sale of houses in April. According to the data, a total of 103,887 residences were sold in April 2018

Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), today published the statistics on home sales in April. In April, a total of 103 thousand sold 87 homes in Turkey.

Mortgaged house sales were 27 thousand 912 in April 2018. As a result of other sales types 75 thousand 175 houses have changed hands. 47 thousand 534 houses were sold for the first time in residential sales, 55 thousand 553 houses were sold from second hand.

According to Turkstat data, house sales made by foreigners increased by 25.8 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. A total of 2 thousand 43 houses were sold to foreigners in the past month. On the basis of nationalities, the sale of the most houses was made to Iraqi citizens.

Housing sales statistics for April

In April 2018, decreased by 9.9 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, housing sales in Turkey have become 87 thousand 103. In residential sales, Istanbul has the highest share with 17,941 housing sales and 16,9 percent.

With 10 thousand 352 housing sales and 10 percent share Ankara, with 6 thousand 418 housing sales and 6.2 percent share İzmir followed Istanbul. The number of residential sales are low in Hakkari with 6 houses respectively, Ardahan with 8 houses and Bayburt with 22 houses.

Residential mortgage sales were 27 thousand 912 in April 2018

Across Turkey mortgage sales have shown a decrease of 35.6 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, 27 912. The share of mortgage sales in total housing sales was 27.1 percent. In mortgage sales, Istanbul is at the first place with 5,147 residential sales and with 18.1 percent share. Artvin was the biggest share of mortgage sales in total housing sales with 38.5 percent.

As a result of other types of sales, 75 thousand 175 houses have changed hands

Other housing sales in Turkey increased by 5.7 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, 75 thousand 175. In other housing sales, Istanbul has sold 12,367 houses and placed first place with a share of 16.5 percent. The share of other sales in total housing sales in Istanbul was 71 percent. Ankara was second with 6,978 other housing sales. İzmir followed Ankara with the sale of 4,483 houses. The least sale of other housing was in Hakkari province with 5 housings.

47 thousand 534 houses sold for the first time in residential sales
Compared to the same month of the previous year, by decreasing 8.6 percent in general, the number of houses sold for the first time was 47 thousand 534. The first sales share in total housing sales was 46.1 percent. During the first sales, Istanbul had the highest share with 8 thousand 63 residential sales and 17 percent, followed by Ankara with 3 thousand 596 residential sales and with 2 thousand 696 residential sales in followed by İzmir.

55 thousand 553 dwelling units changed hands in second-hand housing sales

The second-hand housing sales, with a decrease of 11.1 percent compared to the same month of the previous year was 55 thousand 553 in Turkey. In second-hand housing sales, Istanbul also sold 9,351 houses and placed first place with a share of 16.8 percent. The share of second hand sales in total housing sales in Istanbul was 53.7 percent. Ankara ranked second with 6,756 residential sales. İzmir followed with the sale of 3,722 houses.

2 thousand 43 houses were sold to foreigners in April 2018

Household sales made to foreigners increased by 25.8 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and were 2 thousand 43. In April 2018, Istanbul has taken the first place with 676 houses in residential sales. With 475 residential sales Antalya, with 150 residential sales Bursa, with 143 residential sales, Trabzon and with 113 residential sales Yalova have followed Istanbul.

On the basis of nationalities, the most residential sales were made to Iraqi citizens

Iraqi citizens in April bought 337 houses from Turkey. Saudi Arabia followed with 252 houses, with 138 houses Iran, 116 houses Kuwait and with 112 houses Russian Federation.
