Dönmez: Turkey has diverged in a positive direction in the energy crisis

Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Dönmez said that at a time when the world is suffering from supply and energy shortages, Turkey has diverged positively from other countries.

Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Dönmez spoke at the 12th Turkey Energy Summit in Antalya sponsored by Bloomberg HT.

Dönmez said that while the energy crisis is happening in the world, Turkey is diverging in a positive direction.

The headlines that stand out in Dönmez’s speech are as follows:

The idea of Turkey being an energy center emerged at one moment. We have been expressing the goal of becoming an energy center for a long time. We are collecting the fruits of the transformation that Turkey has experienced in energy in the last 2 years together today. At a time when the world is suffering from supply and energy shortages, Turkey has differentiated itself from other countries in a positive way in this sense. Turkey has all the instruments to become a natural gas center with both its infrastructure and gas markets. We have entered a period of reduced predictability in energy. We are conducting an intensive energy diplomacy in natural gas. All our work is progressing in accordance with the planned calendar. I hope we will illuminate the Century of Turkey with the Energy of the Century. With the energy of the century, we will present the key to a more prosperous Turkey to future generations. I hope we will achieve this together.

TENMAK will soon launch a call for support for two projects in the fields of Hydrogen Technologies and Fuel Cells, as well as Carbon Dioxide Retention and Management. Our goal is clear. we will increase our electrolyzer capacity, which will be 2 GW in 2030, by 35 times to 70 GW in 2053. On the other hand, we aim to reduce the cost of hydrogen production from $ 2.4 to less than $ 1.2 by 2035.
